Why Cleanliness Is Next to Godliness

Hygiene, as defined by the Merriam-Webster dictionary is simply the science or practice of keeping clean. I know that hygiene can be a touchy subject, but it’s really important to stay on top of cleaning yourself. If you have decided to become a vegan, I would recommend being extra mindful about what you put on your body and in your body. Here are some tips to keep it simple:

  1. Shower Daily! – This may seem like an obvious one, but many people don’t shower every day (or every other day). Showering daily is important for multiple reasons: You wash away all of the dirt and sweat from the day before; you wash off any lotions or deodorants that may be harmful; and most importantly – it makes you feel great! It’s also important to use natural products like Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps (I use tea tree) instead of chemical-filled products that do more harm than good for your skin. My hobbies are important to me, and I love to try new things. So when I found out about Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps, I decided to give it a try along with my other hobbies (like hiking and yoga). Now that I’ve gotten into this routine of using natural products like Dr. Bronner’s, it makes me feel good knowing that what is going on my skin is not harmful in any way. It might seem like a hassle at first, but once you get used to it you’ll wonder why you didn’t start sooner!
  1. Brush & Floss Daily! – If you want your teeth to stay healthy and strong for life then brushing and flossing daily is crucial! Don’t forget to brush the gums too! These are the areas where plaque builds up over time…and if left unchecked can cause serious damage later in life (such as gum disease). Make sure that whatever toothpaste or mouthwash that you use does not contain fluoride or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which can be very harmful for your mouth over time. I use a few different toothpastes, including Dr. Bronner’s toothpaste, Tom’s of Maine Fluoride-Free Toothpaste, and Neem Toothpowder. Flossing is also important because it cleans in between the teeth where there are no bristles to reach.
  1. Wash Your Hands! – This one is pretty self-explanatory…wash your hands often! I know that many people wash their hands after they go to the bathroom, but it’s also important to do this after you’ve handled raw meat or vegetables (and before you prepare any food). Make sure that you use warm water and soap when washing your hands so that the soap can wash away all of the germs on them (if any). After washing your hands with soap, be sure to rinse them well until all excess soap has been removed from under your nails too! If you don’t want to buy expensive hand sanitizer products then try using Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps instead since they can help kill 99% of bacteria without drying out your skin like most commercial brands do.
  1. Brush Your Teeth! – I know this may sound like it goes along with the toothpaste tip above, but I wanted to give this one its own section because it’s so important. Not only do you want to brush your teeth daily, but you also want to make sure that you are brushing them correctly. You don’t have to become an expert at brushing your teeth (like me), but try your best to get the job done right every time. Make sure that you use any type of fluoride free toothpaste or powder that is recommended for healthy teeth and gums (I use Dr. Bronner’s again!). It’s also important to floss your teeth after each meal (at least) since food can get stuck in between them over time which causes bad breath and other problems like cavities and gum disease if left unchecked! If possible, try using a natural toothbrush made out of bamboo or coconut fibers instead of regular plastic brushes since they are much more eco-friendly than most brushes these days.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed learning about the importance of hygiene and how to keep your body clean without all of those expensive products or chemicals! It’s important that we take care of our bodies because they are the only ones that we will ever have (at least for now). If you still think it’s weird to be so particular with keeping yourself clean, I want to remind you one more time:
